My niece really has a way to teach me new things. After exactly one week of quarantine from children, I went to spend some time with my mum and niece and nephew after HOT. Missed them lots. Haven't seen the Jing En since Father's Day makan session on 5 June 2009. Another objective is to get my stomach filled. Famished. Only consumed some random junk prior to HOT.

Dinner was fried rice. Had some soup also. Yummy. Mama's cooking's the best! She gave me so much that I didn't finish the whole big bowl and yet, so full till I had to recline and park myself at the sofa. Jing En kept herself busy with her princess show on the mini player. Woken up by some tapping on my legs when the "爱" show time. The little girl was trying to tell me it was time for, "我问天， 我问天”. Not really a fan of Taiwan Hokkien dubbed in Mandarin dramas. The actors and actresses take forever to finish what they want to tell each other. I nodded my head and went back to my lala land. It got warm after a while and the heat woke me.

The little girl got bored with her princess show, she turned to her 姨姨 and started singing the tune she was taught "Nobody, nobody but you! Nobody, nobody but you!" It was entertaining. The maid was pointed at one time when she reached "you". When she got tired of singing and swaying her hips, she wanted to follow me to 阿公‘s house.

When she got too near to the television, Mama turned it off. She got upset and threw the bag to the floor and sulked. That was something new. I wondered when she picked that up. She seemed like a big girl now.

As she repeatedly showed off her princess dress to me and asked to go 阿公‘s house, I knew I couldn't coaxed her anymore. Used to be able to do that a few months back while she was rocked to sleep and I slip home. She tailed everywhere I go. Perhaps bringing her downstairs for a stroll would make her forget her objective. She brought along her princess bag and her oversized princess heels and we walked. Everyone was amazed how she managed to move in that. We saw some people barbecuing and she remembered coming for mine a few months ago. I suggested a seat and rest after a while. She was really trying hard to walk in those heels.

I think she's really a big girl now. She tried to role-play what she would do. "Go back ask Mama, ask Ah Ma. Jing En go 阿公‘s house, okay? If cannot, CAN! Cannot, CAN!" Haha. Back home, she still remembered it. "If Mama and Ah Ma says 'Okay', then 姨姨 bring you, all right?" My mum was really naughty. She gave her permission to follow me. Without her pacifier and milk, I wondered how am I to take care of this little imp. She couldn't wait nor want to call her mama to ask. "No phone", she replied. Spoilt or did this little girl know the answer?

9pm. Her bedtime. The maid brought the pacifier but she refused until I told her she's a good girl. Went to my mum's room. She followed. Laid on my mama's bed. She tossed on the bean bag and the bed. Still up.

The moment she saw my mum outside with Didi, she requested for 摇摇. Never in my life have I rocked a toddler to sleep. My mum and the maid laughed in joy. No clue what to do! The maid put on the sarong and tried to wrap that imp in. She cried. Only 姨姨!! Alamak. How?? Thankfully, the girl knew what she wanted. She grabbed her favourite pillow and came. I bounced on the gym ball... She cried again when I took her out and placed her on the mattress. Okay. Took her in my laps and put her back in my arms again. This time round, I did it!!

WOHOHOHO!! Felt some sense of achievement neh! What a tough nut to crack! No kid on my own with experience rocking a one to sleep and I did it! Eh.. Got nanny potential leh.. lol. Call me for baby-sitting help! Prices negotiable! Hehee..

I miss you. Yes. Again. Whenever someone tries to get close. Whenever I am lost. Whenever I feel weary. Yes, I'm suffocating. Why do I feel sad when I am progressing? 

Fill me, O Lord. Let your oil overflow like a gushing wind. I am but a breathe of air. Who am I to feel empty with You always by my side? :) Call me, make me, use me, fill me, empower me. All I am, may I be poured out like a fragrant offering. All Yours. 

Tribob Sprint Series

750m Swim, 20km Cycle, 5km Run

Team took 2:19:01 to complete the race. Karene broke her pool record. Completed the swim with a stunning record of 0:21:13. It was an excellent move to place her in the leg. 33rd place in the category. 27th position under the team category and 540th position for gender. However, I have a feeling that the organizers thought we are male! That's totally not correct!

Eu did a good job for her virgin race. Clocked a 1:13:48 timing. I wonder how long I'd take! Never rode in such high mountain bike nor road bikes before. Hope I won't get the jitters in a race and land up in an ugly fall when my turn comes!

Weather was good but it got rather warm when it was my turn to run around 1050 hours. A lot of ang mohs were very fast. As per my Rolex watch, I finished with a lousy timing of 0:41:09. Water point was good at 1km and 3km mark. In fact, it was visible at every 1km due to the loop. There was cold isotonic and water. Was so desperate that I took the bottle of isotonic in my 2nd loop and had to run with it for the final kilometre. Many racers were cheering me on, saying "jiayou!", "come on", as they cycled past me to their cars!

Of course we finished the race. Haha. :D "Run a good race, fight the good fight ma." I remembered vividly what was prayed for me at my baptism. "Fight valiantly under the banner of Christ as a faithful soldier and servant, till the end of your life." There is a narrow road to the destination. Winners are those who are able to overcome the discomfort to get to the other side. What's most important is that our eyes get fixed on the goal. No one can help you run the race until you pluck yourself off the seat.

Enjoy the journey. We are only young once. Since I cannot control how I die, I can decide how I live. Running keeps me in check of my goal to reach Him. Gives me endurance training for perseverance in the insane world. We are in the world, but not of the world. Live for God. Give Him only the best because He deserves all that is in us. Our time, talent, money, love, energy, everything. All things come from You, and of Your own, do we give You. Amen.

I was changing my fish water today. As I left the small tap running, I went over to the other sink to wash and tidy up the place, rearrange and return the utensils n cups... I forgot about my molly babies. One got washed into the sink. Quickly opened the filter to see no sign of wriggly red molly. Negative. =(

One month from being a proud owner of molly babies, I am now left with three healthy wriggly small red things. Heehee. They're really adorable and a joy to see. I wanna see them all grow big!

Left with 15 little mollies. Their colours are slowly showing. Could have been the little chlorine in the water or the trauma of being spilled away into the sink. Haha.
